While the moon comes out at night
And it seems shine so bright
You’re my love for time
You make my days rhyme

You are that matters
When I’m with you I feel free
When things seem go awry
You raise my spirits a new high

[Chorus]
When I met you I felt blest
I will be yours forever
I love you and need you

I’m incomplete without you
I’d feel empty each day through
I’d fear a loss so very great
Without you set straight

I feel totally content with you
You help feel no longer blue
My spirits receive a lift
The love I feel is a gift

You complete sweetheart
It hurts when we’re apart
When you’re away I feel a void
Divided we must avoid

[Chorus]
When I met you I felt blest
I will be yours forever
I love you and need you

I’m incomplete without you
I’d feel empty each day through
I’d fear a loss so very great
Without you set straight

When I fell you held
Caught good like in a cup
I think you knew my needs
The love for us succeeds

Life now feels worthwhile
We see each other smile
Now I feel so brand new
Because I have you

[Chorus]
When I met you I felt blest
I will be yours forever
I love you and need you

I’m incomplete without you
I’d feel empty each day through
I’d fear a loss so very great
Without you set straight

I’m incomplete without you
Your senses have dreaming
Because of you I feel anew
You give my life a meaning
I’m incomplete without you

[Chorus]
When I met you I felt blest
I will be yours forever
I love you and need you

I’m incomplete without you
I’d feel empty each day through
I’d fear a loss so very great
Without you set straight

She turned 22 in the winter of the year, returning from where the music made her soar
Behind was her uncertain past, she now felt like she was reborn
Her songs had opened many a new drawer
She had come the prairies years before with hope and life riding her tunes
The step was made and she worked hard and long
Time passed quickly by and it was almost June

[Chorus]
On the flat prairie under a clear blue sky, she wrote and gave her songs a try
The spirits of the lands heard the refrain
Flat prairie, clear blue skies, fields of grain
The spirits of the lands heard her refrain
Flat prairie, clear blue skies, fields of grain

She went from town to city, singing her songs for hear
With the hope that she could land a record deal
She earned little money along the way, and shed many a tear
She met a man who told her he would make her a star
And she had to learn the fiddle, banjo and guitar
A good record deal she signed the following May
She was to record 40 of her songs with RCA

[Chorus]
On the flat prairie under a clear blue sky, she wrote and gave her songs a try
The spirits of the lands heard the refrain
Flat prairie, clear blue skies, fields of grain
The spirits of the lands heard her refrain
Flat prairie, clear blue skies, fields of grain

Back at her East coast home she has a family of four, two girls, one boy and a dog
She tours the country yearly and meets her many fans
Her songs are hits and at times she feels like in a fog
She still can’t comprehend her well laid out plans
The man who made her a star is her husband as well
It was love at first sight and has lasted a long spell
Her have her talent and they along with her
They write and sing their own songs and do it well

[Chorus]
On the flat prairie under a clear blue sky, she wrote and gave her songs a try
The spirits of the lands heard her refrain
Flat prairie, clear blue skies, fields of grain
The spirits of the lands heard the refrain
Flat prairie, clear blue skies, fields of grain

The past year has sped by
Especially since July
The days were wet and dry
God watched from the sky

Now we must face a new year
After all the Christmas cheer
Too much wine, whisky and beer
Was that really a reindeer?

Some risks may be taken
We may face as we awaken
Our lives may be shaken
But we'll not be mistaken

We may face some roadblocks
Watch the value of our stocks
Recycling in the blue box
And still watching the clocks

So let’s stay well alert
Try to avoid causing hurt
In talking, be less curt
For ourselves we should assert

Share time with friends
That’s what God intends
Some rules we’ll bend
And make many amends

Jump over hurdles with care
Show caution and be fair
Don’t dawdle, prepare
Face challenges with flair

Remember to laugh
Commit one less gaffe
Have fun on your behalf
Love your other half

To cooperate we must
We’ll restore more trust
Change, remove some rust
For God will be just

New friends we should make
Make one less mistake
Early to bed, early awake
Be for real not a fake

Search out a new quest
Get plenty of rest
Life is but a test
As God will attest

Only God will decide
Where we will abide
Only he can provide
An angel to guide

May God bless us all
And help us stand tall
God please bless us all
So that we won’t fall

Mandy sits near the kitchen door
A gentle breeze blows through her hair
Another day Ed will be late
She wonders of his next affair

Ed rushes out the office door
He knows she’ll be in much despair
He thinks and wonders while he leaves
Does Mandy know of his affair?

[Chorus]
Affairs for him ease the pain
Affairs so he can start again
Affairs for him find true love
Affairs for him give some love

Their love has now begun die
He feels that she no longer cares
He’s found someone who loves him more
stay with Mandy he can’t bear

Ed meets Linda near central park
She greets him with a hug and kiss
He holds her in his arms so tight
He never before felt such bliss

[Chorus]
Affairs for him ease the pain
Affairs so he can start again
Affairs for him find true love
Affairs for him give some love

Mandy invites Tom in the house
She hugs him tightly with embrace
Tom responds with gentle kisses
She plays her own affair in place

Mandy guides her Tom by the hand
She plans to show him special care
She soon then wonders to herself
Will Ed know about her affair?

[Chorus]
Affairs for her to ease the pain
Affairs so she can start again
Affairs for her to find true love
Affairs for her to give some love

Mandy feels so much love with Tom
She soon forgets what Ed has done
Her thoughts are with the man she’s with
A new pursuit had since begun

She’s seen Tom now for many weeks
Makes a promise to keep him well
She loves him so very greatly
To Ed she’ll bid a fond farewell

[Chorus]
Affairs for them to ease the pain
Affairs so they can start again
Affairs for them to find true love
Affairs for them to give some love

We came back today from afar
To Canada our great nation
Back home under the stars
The finest of destinations

From St. John’s to Vancouver
Halifax, Toronto, Regina
Over the country we maneuver
Catch hockey in the arenas

Back in Canada, we’re so glad
Back in Canada, no more sad
Back in Canada, I must add
Being back in Canada makes us glad

Did we miss Quebec and Alberta?
Darn rights and quite a scenario
I made it back to see Roberta
Next Manitoba and Ontario

Donna Wright we found in Jasper
Joan is down in Banff park
In B.C. is uncle Casper
The neighbour’s barks

Back in Canada, we’re so glad
Back in Canada, no more sad
Back in Canada, I must add
Being back in Canada makes us glad

To see the prairies and the Rockies
The Great Lakes and Maritimes
Listen to the disc jockeys
Play the songs and rhymes

Back in Canada, we’re so glad
Back in Canada, no more sad
Back in Canada, I must add
Being back in Canada makes us glad

Back in Canada, yeah oh yeah
It feels so good, to be back home
Back in Canada, yeah oh yeah
It is here that we will roam

Back in Canada, we’re so glad
Back in Canada, no more sad
Back in Canada, I must add
Being back in Canada makes us glad

Back in Canada, yeah oh yeah
It feels so good
Back in Canada, yeah oh yeah
It feels so good
Back in Canada feels so good

You are
The one I always think of
My thoughts are of true love

Each tender
Moment when we’re together
My heart floats like a feather

Will you
[Yes, you-you-you]
Be at my side
To love forever
And become my bride

[Chorus]
Every time our hearts convene
I feel like I’m again eighteen
Your voice and smile
Creates for me
An emotion
Of timeless devotion

Our lives
Are separate at this time
Our hearts must sing in rhyme

Do you know
[My love]
My heart often skips a beat
It’s because you’re so sweet

Sweetheart
Let’s start
To plan real soon
Some way
One day
For our love to grow
We will then
Feel it flow

[Chorus]
Every time our hearts convene
I feel like I’m again eighteen
Your voice and smile
Creates for me
An emotion
Of timeless devotion

You’re her
The one I truly love
So,
Baby,
Baby
Let’s share
Let’s share our love
With devotion

I’ll cherish
Our times
Spent together
Just us
Alone
It’s destiny time
Destiny
Now’s the time

[Bridge]
Darling,
Always you I think of
Emotions mean true love
True love meant for only you
Much devotion needed too
Let’s share
With care, and flair
Emotion, devotion

[Chorus]
Every time our hearts convene
I feel like I’m again eighteen
Your voice and smile
Creates for me
An emotion
Of timeless devotion

She Loved Him Then

[Chorus]
She loved him then
He was fifteen and she was ten

He was friends with her brother
Her parents truly liked him
It must be almost sixty years
Her very first love was him
It's so long ago
What might've been they'll never know

[Chorus]
She loved him then
He was fifteen and she was ten
She loved him even then
He was fifteen, she was ten

They spent pleasant times together
She loved spending time with him
No kisses, they just talked and hugged
The first boy she loved was him
It's so long ago
She should not have let him go

[Chorus]
She loved him then
He was fifteen and she was ten
She loved him even then
He was fifteen, she was ten

She wonders
Where is he living now?
What had he done in life?
She's often thought of him
She thought of her as his wife?
But, it's been so long
It's time now to end this song

[Chorus]
She loved him then
What might've been they'll never know
She loved him then
She should not have let him go
It's been so long
Now's the time to end this song
She loved him then
He was fifteen, she was ten
